Dr. Lavery attended Rutgers College, majoring in chemistry. He graduated from New Jersey Dental School in 1981. After serving in Public Health Service for three years, Dr. Lavery started in private practice. He has been at his current location for over 25 years.
Dr. Lavery prides himself in keeping up with current trends and technology in dentistry. He has taken hundreds of courses over the years to provide the most up to date care to his patients. Two areas that Dr. Lavery has been especially interested in are: implant placement and non-surgical gum treatments. Dr. Lavery feels that with the mounting evidence of the impact of gum inflammation on the rest of the body, it is more important than ever to be able to give his patients the best options to eliminate gum disease and in the process, keep them healthier. For tooth replacement, in many cases Dr. Lavery feels that implants are now the best option available. To reduce some of the barriers to the process, Dr. Lavery is now placing implants as well as restoring them.
Dr. Lavery is married and has four children. On his off days, he enjoys golfing, swimming, biking and skiing.
Edith has had a wide range of experience in the dental field. She has been with Dr. Lavery since 1999. She completed the Dental Radiology course in 2000 and is current with her CPR certification. She participates in frequent office training to further enhance her dental assisting and office administration skills. Most recently she is working at the front desk as schedule and insurance coordinator. With all the changes that have been taking place in the world of insurance, she finds it challenging and rewarding to keep up with the most accurate information. When Edy is not at work, she enjoys traveling, boating, and spending time with family, friends and her dog, Cosmos. She is proud of her Panamanian heritage and is fluent in Spanish.
Isabel has worked with Dr. Lavery as a Dental Assistant for the last 14 years. She enjoys helping patients conquer their fear of dentistry by creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Being from Panama, she is bilingual and can help translate for Spanish speaking patients. She truly loves working in the dental field, because of the relationships that she develops both with our patients and her fellow coworkers. Outside of the office, Isabel enjoys spending time with her husband of 27 years. She has two wonderful daughters. Her youngest is attending Rutgers University and oldest recently got married. She also spends time with her adorable American Eskimo, Ivy.
Tina has worked with Dr. Lavery for the past 2 and half years. Tina handles all of the financial arrangements for patient treatments. She presents financial options and works with patients to be able to get the treatment done that they need. She enjoys seeing patients leave happy with beautiful smiles. Tina brings a very high level of enthusiasm to the office. This positive energy is contagious with both her coworkers and patients. Tina is married and has two teenage children. She enjoys family time, shopping and especially spending time with her dogs, Max and Maddie. More recently she has become a foster “dog” mom for various rescue dogs while they wait for a permanent home.
